About Break The Web
We help make SEO less annoying.
Break The Web is a boutique SEO agency built for in-house marketing teams at ambitious eCommerce and DTC brands.
We care more about client quality than client quantity. We want strong partnerships, clear communication, measurable progress, and work that actually matters.
Our clients trust us because we practice what we preach, communicate directly, think strategically, and genuinely care about helping their businesses grow.
We operate with transparency, high standards, entrepreneurial energy, and a healthy amount of personality.
We want to build the kind of agency where great people can do the best work of their careers.
Who We Are Looking For
A well-rounded SEO leader.
You are highly resourceful, proactive, meticulous, and comfortable operating with ownership.
You can confidently walk into a room of executives, defend strategy objectively, communicate clearly, and build trust naturally.
You are equally comfortable discussing:
Ecommerce SEO
On-Page SEO
AI/LLM Search + Visibility
Digital PR/Link Building Strategy
Marketing Funnel Strategy
GA4 + Revenue Attribution
Google Search Console
Google Merchant Center
Client Buy-In
Executive Communication
Project Management
Workflow Improvement
Core Values
Our values drive how we work.
OWN EVERY OUTCOME
I am RESPONSIBLE, and I believe that to achieve success as a team, everyone must own their role and tasks individually, proactively solving issues to make sure all the work comes together efficiently.
AIM TO EXCEL
I am AMBITIOUS, and I believe that the way to grow is by pushing our boundaries and getting out of our comfort zone.
FOLLOW THE WHY
I am CURIOUS, and I believe that the most effective solutions come from creative minds that think outside the box.
CHALLENGE WITH CARE
I am TRANSPARENT, and I believe that for a remote multicultural team to work and grow together in harmony, we need to foster direct, clear, and honest communication while also showing genuine care and respect for each other.
SEE OPPORTUNITIES INSTEAD OF PROBLEMS
I am OPTIMISTIC, and I believe that when we assume the best of every situation and every person, we make it easier to collaborate and look for win-win outcomes.
The Role
What you will actually be doing.
Lead and evolve SEO strategy for ambitious eCommerce and DTC brands.
Build deep client trust and become a true strategic partner, not just another agency vendor.
Improve workflows, SOPs, AI systems, reporting, deliverables, and operational efficiency across the agency.
Lead client communication, presentations, strategy calls, and executive-level conversations confidently.
Collaborate across SEO, Content, Digital PR, Operations, and Client Success teams.
Identify opportunities proactively instead of waiting for direction.
Help mentor and elevate the team around you.
Required Experience
What you should already bring to the table.
SEO Experience
4+ years of hands-on Search Engine Optimization experience, with strong on-page, content, technical, off-page, and analytical SEO foundations.
eCommerce / DTC SEO
Strong, measurable experience helping eCommerce, DTC, or similar consumer-focused brands improve organic performance.
Strategic Ownership + Buy-In
Experience creating, prioritizing, strategizing, and justifying SEO recommendations in a way that earns buy-in both internally and externally.
Client Communication
2+ years of client interaction experience, with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and confidently in both written and verbal settings.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Experience collaborating with development, creative, content, social, paid media, client success, or other teams is a strong bonus.
Team Leadership
1+ year of experience managing, mentoring, or helping guide team members toward stronger execution and better outcomes.
SEO Tool Fluency
Experience with industry-standard tools such as Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, Google Drive, or similar platforms.
High-Trust Working Style
Excellent organization, time management, attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and the professional-but-personal demeanor needed to earn trust quickly.
You will thrive here if…
You have a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
You think three steps ahead naturally.
You have your own side projects, websites, experiments, or things you publish.
You love improving systems and making things better.
You care about measurable business impact, not vanity metrics.
You are obsessed with where AI and search are heading.
You value quality client relationships over high account volume.
You want your work to matter.
You will probably hate it here if…
You need constant direction and handholding.
You say yes to everything instead of defending your perspective thoughtfully.
You rely on generic SEO best practices without critical thinking.
You avoid ownership when things go wrong.
You treat clients transactionally.
You prefer maintaining systems instead of improving them.
Growth Path
We want builders.
The right person will not just manage campaigns.
They will help shape systems, elevate client relationships, improve the agency operationally, and eventually grow into larger leadership responsibilities.
If your long-term goal is to become a future strategic leader, operator, or C-suite level contributor, this role is intentionally designed to give you meaningful ownership and visibility.

What to expect.
1.
Quick Fit Snapshot
A short, self-completed 15-minute step before we meet. You’ll answer a few quick questions so we can better understand your background, working style, and what you are looking for next. It is simple, straightforward, and gives you a chance to share more than what fits on a resume.
2.
Mutual Vibe Check
A casual conversation with our SEO Director to talk through the role, expectations, team culture, and what you are looking for next. This is also your chance to ask questions and make sure the opportunity feels right for you.
3.
SEO + Client Strategy Conversation
A more role-specific conversation around how you think through SEO priorities, client strategy, communication, and business impact. No trick questions — just a practical discussion about the kind of work you would actually be doing here.
4.
Paid Project Test
A realistic project assignment related to the role, with compensation for your time. The goal is not to create busywork — it is to give both sides a clearer sense of how you approach the work in practice.
5.
Project Presentation + Final Q&A
A final conversation where you walk us through your project, talk through your thinking, and ask any remaining questions. By this point, the goal is clarity on both sides — not dragging out the process.
We are not looking for someone to fill a seat.
We are looking for someone who wants to help build something meaningful, grow alongside an ambitious boutique agency, and do career-defining work with people who genuinely care.
